Multi-tasking conversion tool
Numeric conversion tools have suffered somewhat from the way Google now allows conversions for just about anything to be made directly in it's search bar.
Still, it's useful sometimes to have a tool that can convert to different units on your desktop, especially if you don't have access to the net on the move. MConvert is one of those and converts just about anything including currency, metric and imperial and more. The tool is divided into several different areas namely Acceleration, Angle, Area, Base, Consumption, Currency, Data, Density, Energy, Energy/Mass, Force, Length, Mass, Permeability, Power, Pressure, Radioactivity, Temperature, Time, Torque, Velocity, Viscosity, Volume.
In the case of currencies, MConvert is updated daily to that it uses the latest exchange rates. There's also a button which takes you directly to the IMF's official rates if you need precise up to the minute data. It supports several conversions at once and you can export the results of all conversion to an Excel sheet. The interface is simple and easy to use with a drop down menu allowing you to select the type of conversion you want to make.
If you've ever found yourself at a loss about how to convert something, MConvert will cover virtually every conceivable situation.

Just what I was looking for.
Unlike many converters that only convert to one other unit at a time, MConvert converts to all relevant values. So if you enter a value in the "liter" field, for example, it returns the value for quarts, pints, cubic foot, and a long list of volume values. The entire list is displayed at all times so you can quickly and easily change the "from" value simply by entering a value into a different field. There is a conversion formula for pretty much anything the average person is likely to want. If you don't like all those fields you never use, you can customize the view to display only the fields you use most. You can select standard or scientific notation and the number of decimal places you want for accuracy. My only complaint is that the text is a little small for my aging eyes but other than that, it's everything I was looking for in a converter.
Pros:
Very easy to use
Converts just about anything
Several very useful customization features
Cons:
Text is small if your eyes are not young More

A little ripper of an application.
MConvert does every conversion I need and importantly shows all the options in the one window, e.g. the consumption conversion gives metric (which I use in Australia) and US and Imperial conversions which are useful when comparing car reviews from the US and UK. The fuel consumption feature was my prime reason for choosing MConvert but it also handles another 26 conversion groups: Acceleration, Angle, Area, Base, Currency, Data Storage, Data Transfer, Density, Energy, Energy/Mass, Force, GPS, Illuminance, Length, Luminance, Mass, Permeability, Power, Pressure, Radioactivity, Temperature, Time, Torque, Velocity, Viscosity, Volume.
